Our client, a renowned and ethically driven company within the water engineering sector, is currently looking for a Design Manager to join their team in Preston. As a key player in the field of multi-disciplinary engineering and construction, our client works diligently in the water and wastewater industry, providing comprehensive solutions from design to maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain the design deliverables plan in collaboration with the project delivery team.
* Manage the commercial Design Forecast across the framework against Tender allowances.
* Coordinate with internal design team members and external resources to meet project requirements.
* Oversee supply chain management and ensure supplier tenders comply with engineering standards.
* Develop scheme tender designs and manage estimating for robust project pricing.
* Manage design inputs and outputs through the Lead Design Engineers.
* Liaise with clients to ensure design considerations are well understood.
* Administer the allocation of Lead Design Engineers to individual projects.
* Manage the Design Risk Register, updating key technical risks as they arise.
* Support the planner in keeping up-to-date detailed design management project programmes.
Job Requirements:
* Technical knowledge of electrical water and wastewater operations.
* Excellent project awareness and understanding of adhering to programme schedules.
* Dynamic problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to finding effective solutions.
* Clear and concise communication at all levels using various methods.
* Strong team player with a commitment to safety and quality.
