Job Title: Pension Risk and Governance Manager – 24-month FTC Location: Frimley, Surrey. Salary: Up to £65,000 depending on skills and experience What You’ll Be Doing Development and ownership of the Risk Management Framework for all UK pensions schemes, oversight of governance and assurance plans to ensure an effective system of governance is in place Ensuring the Risk Management Framework addresses the requirements set by external parties, such as governance arrangements set by the Pensions Regulator and internal BAE Systems policies and procedures Overseeing and driving the agenda for risk meetings with Trustees of each pension scheme, working collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure mitigating actions are in place and monitored Responsible for the aggregation of risk documentation and accompanying commentary, this will include risk registers for each scheme and detailed risk reviews as required Attending Trustee meetings to present and facilitate discussions on risk management as required Acting as a key contact for outsourced service providers in relation to any assurance work carried out Oversight and management of the Pensions Assurance programme tracking progress of any pension scheme recommendations raised from any assurance work carried out, including items raised from Internal Audit Essential Your skills and experiences: Auditing, Governance, and Assurance experience, with a good understanding of policies and processes Risk Management Proficiency, capable of articulating frameworks and monitoring mechanisms Effective Communication and Stakeholder Engagement, with the ability to build and influence positive relationship Desirable Experience of work in the pensions industry to enable the identification and adoption of good practice and governance and assurance processes Knowledge of the governance requirements set out by the Pensions Regulator, codes of practice and GDPR requirements Benefits As well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts – you may also be eligible for an annual incentive. The Pensions Finance Team Join our dynamic team and leverage your existing experience to manage and oversee the governance requirements large UK pension schemes. This role offers a unique opportunity to be responsible for shaping the stewardship of risk management and driving change to enhance processes. You’ll be part of a small, close-knit team within the larger pensions department, reporting directly to the Head of Pensions Finance. You will have the opportunity to work with the Trustees of the pension schemes, with exposure with senior management and take on an exciting role with a broad range of responsibilities.
