Job Description
As the Assistant Management Accountant your responsibilities will include:
* Assist in preparing monthly management accounts by analysing financial data, performing balance sheet reconciliations, calculating accruals, and managing prepayments to ensure accurate reporting.
* Aid in developing annual budgets and regular financial forecasts by collaborating with department heads and analysing historical data to provide accurate projections.
* Help monitor cash flow forecasts to ensure the company meets its financial obligations, reviewing cash inflows and outflows to identify potential shortfalls and optimise management.
* Manage transactional finance tasks by processing invoices, ensuring timely payments to suppliers, and reconciling accounts to maintain accurate records.
* P erform regular bank reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial records, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly.
* Assist in preparing and submitting VAT returns in compliance with HMRC regulations, gathering necessary documentation and ensuring timely filings.
* Collaborate with the payroll team to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, verifying hours and compliance with relevant regulations.
* Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and addressing auditor inquiries, ensuring a smooth and compliant audit process.
* Support process improvement initiatives, analyzing workflows and collaborating with the team to enhance efficiency.
The Successful Applicant
The successful Assistant Management Accountant:
* Studying towards AAT/CIMA/ACCA/ACA or equivalent
* Strong understanding of double entry accounting
* Strong excel skills
* Previous experience using accounting software such as Xero/Sage
* Desire to complete accounting qualification
* Articulate, proactive, team player
* Excellent, proven verbal and written communication skills
