This role is advertised as Oxford based but is negotiable to the nearest Trust site. Please contact to discuss further.
For the first time in a few years, we are seeking a new leader to join our team following the retirement of the current leader. The right candidate will be an experienced registered general nurse or allied health professional and will focus predominantly on leading the falls service in collaboration with peers in other same day and urgent care services. Significant experience and post-registration qualifications in the field of falls prevention and frailty are essential to this role. Informal visits and contact with the recruiting manager or existing team lead are encouraged to find out more about this unique service.
This post is 37.5 hours per week, and you will be expected to work predominantly weekdays, with the occasional weekend or bank holiday shifts based on service need. There is an expectation that you will also need to travel to other sites across Oxfordshire and carry equipment for clinics and home visits; therefore, a driving license and suitable vehicle are essential for this post.
You will be expected to use your expertise and skills to provide first-line clinical leadership and operational management of the Falls and same-day visiting service as well as direct line management of the falls team and the falls waiting list.
This may include working autonomously to undertake specialist assessments in a patient's own home or clinic setting and be able to support the development of junior team members in becoming autonomous practitioners.
You will be core to the continuous service development in a changing healthcare system, following NICE guidance and working alongside the senior leadership team.
You will be essential for the future service transformation including the implementation of local initiatives and wider directorate level transformation workstreams. You will represent the service and work collaboratively with other services both internally to Oxford Health and externally.
Oxford Health is a great place to work, and to showcase the best of yourself when making an application, you are encouraged to read the “candidate guide to making an application” which is attached to all roles. Please include details around qualifications (including years these were gained particularly if we need to assess for clinical roles that these are still valid) and ensure that the supporting statement is tailored to the role you are applying for and addresses the essential criteria found in the JD.
