Vacancy: Fitout Foreman
Salary: Open to negotiation
Projects: NI/ROI/UK flexibility required
Work with one of Northern Ireland's most reputable fit-out providers, specialising in retail, workspace and hospitality projects, working across NI, UK and ROI.
Job duties:
On-Site Supervision:
1. Oversee all on-site activities related to the fit-out project.
2. Supervise tradespeople, subcontractors, and laborers, ensuring they adhere to project plans and timelines.
3. Coordinate daily tasks according to priorities and plans, adjusting as necessary to meet deadlines.
Quality Control:
1. Ensure all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and in accordance with the project specifications.
2. Conduct regular inspections to identify and rectify any defects or substandard work.
3. Work closely with the project manager and quality assurance team to implement quality control procedures.
Health & Safety Compliance:
1. Enforce strict adherence to health and safety regulations on-site.
2. Conduct site inductions for new workers, outlining safety protocols and emergency procedures.
3. Monitor site conditions and practices, addressing any potential hazards promptly.
Coordination with Stakeholders:
1. Liaise with the project manager, architects, and designers to ensure the smooth execution of the project.
2. Communicate effectively with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure the timely delivery of materials and services.
3. Serve as the main point of contact on-site, addressing any issues or concerns that arise.
Resource Management:
1. Ensure the efficient use of materials, tools, and labor on-site.
2. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the procurement team to order additional materials as needed.
3. Manage the allocation and deployment of labor, ensuring that the right skills are available at the right time.
Problem Solving:
1. Identify potential issues before they become problems and develop solutions to keep the project on track.
2. Handle on-the-spot challenges, such as unexpected delays, technical issues, or client requests, while maintaining progress and quality.
Time Management:
1. Develop and manage daily and weekly work schedules, ensuring that tasks are completed on time.
2. Track progress against the project timeline, making adjustments as necessary to meet deadlines.
3. Ensure that any delays are communicated to the project manager and that corrective actions are taken.
Reporting and Documentation:
1. Maintain accurate records of daily site activities, including work completed, issues encountered, and materials used.
2. Prepare regular reports for the project manager on progress, quality, and any issues affecting the project timeline.
3. Document any variations or changes to the project scope and ensure they are communicated to all relevant parties.
Handover and Defect Resolution:
1. Ensure that all work is completed to the client's satisfaction before handover.
2. Oversee the final inspections, ensuring that any snagging or defects are rectified.
3. Assist with the handover process, ensuring that all documentation and certifications are provided to the client.
Team Leadership and Mentorship:
1. Lead by example, promoting a positive and productive work environment.
2. Mentor and develop junior staff, providing guidance and training as needed.
3. Encourage teamwork and collaboration among all site personnel.
Skills and Experience:
1. Experience: Extensive experience in fit-out or interior construction, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality projects.
2. Leadership: Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team on-site.
3. Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of fit-out processes, materials, and construction methods.
4. Problem-Solving: Ability to think on your feet and resolve issues quickly to keep the project on track.
