Electrical Installations Trainer

This role is based at HMP Highpoint South, Stradishall, Newmarket CB8 9YG. Candidates should preferably reside in Peterborough, Norwich, Ipswich, Chelmsford, Bedford, or Cambridge. The role involves delivering electrical training within the prison environment, focusing on learners nearing the end of their sentences. You will receive comprehensive training and induction to support your success in this role.

We are looking for experienced electrical trainers comfortable delivering training in a prison setting. The successful candidate will be supported through all necessary training and induction.

City & Guilds Training – Electrical (Trade Skills 4U) offers a wide range of electrical courses for both experienced electricians and newcomers. Role overview
You will deliver practical and theoretical electrical training, including courses such as C&G 2365 Level 2 & 3, C&G 2382, C&G 2391, C&G 2377, C&G 2921, BPEC Solar PV, and Battery Storage. Developing training materials to meet specific requirements may also be part of your responsibilities. The role involves ensuring high-quality delivery, assessment, and compliance with safety and diversity policies.
About you
Requirements include recent relevant industry experience in electrical installation, a minimum Level 3 teaching qualification, Level 2 English and Maths, and solid knowledge of electrical principles. Bonus qualifications include Level 3 Assessing, Level 4 Internal Quality Audit, and additional electrical certifications like C&G 2396, 2391, or green credentials such as Solar PV, EV, or EESS. You should possess strong communication, teamwork, problem-solving skills, and hold a full UK driving license.
Applicants will need to undertake checks, including an enhanced DBS and proof of right to work in the UK.
