Optimise are currently seeking a Contracts Manager to work closely with our planning and project management teams to ensure the successful completion and handover of the project.
The Contracts Manager will oversee construction programs, identify potential value engineering options, and coordinate with site managers to ensure the smooth and strong delivery of all projects.
They will also be responsible for supervising all labour and subcontractors on-site, ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard.
To be considered for this position, it is essential to have prior experience in shopfitting and refurbishment. Most of our projects involve the fit-out of bars, kitchens, restaurants, and stadia, so prior experience in these areas would be advantageous.
Experience working on multi-million-pound commercial or hotel facilities would also be beneficial.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the leisure fit-out and refurbishment markets, with a particular focus on high-spec fit-outs. Attention to detail is crucial in this role as we pride ourselves on maintaining a strong reputation nationwide.

11. Experience working on medium to high-value hospitality and leisure projects
12. Reporting to senior contracts manager, you will be responsible for the full running of the site
13. Smooth handover with all internal staff involved with the project
14. Management of subcontractors
15. Health and safety supervision
16. Attend and lead project meetings with clients, owners, representatives, colleagues, sub-trades, contractors, and other project stakeholders
17. Ensuring that formal instructions are received from Clients at all times for all required and additional works
18. Ensuring the preparation of final accounts with all associated documentation for swift agreement with the Client in such a way as to maximise profitability and cashflow
19. Ensuring that all variations are claimed
20. Ensuring all retentions are claimed
21. Knowledge & understanding of our obligations under the terms of the building contract
22. Ensuring that the terms and conditions of the contractor's orders are agreed
23. Liaising with the client to ensure a smooth and on-time completion
Personal Attributes and Experience
1. Have a minimum of 5-10 years continuous and current experience within a similar role
2. Main contractor background, ideally with significant experience with design and build fit outs
3. Full UK driving licence
4. Ability to travel when required throughout the UK to attend site visits, project meetings, etc.
5. Working knowledge of JCT Contracts
6. Understanding of M&E installations desirable
7. Knowledge of Health & Safety procedures
8. Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks
9. Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
10. Be computer literate and fully conversant with MS Word / Excel / Outlook
Salary and Benefits
* Salary: £60-65k
* Car allowance: £550 per month
* Hours: 40 basic, will be required to work more when needed
