ABOUT THE ROLE
Our client is looking for a Electrical Estimator, who will play a crucial role in our project management and bid development processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for completing all tenders and Take-off docs for electrical projects.
As a Electrical Estimator, your role will include but not be limited to:
1. develop new business opportunities and client relationships.
2. Produce accurate estimates that are detailed and inputted into the estimating software currently in use.
3. Work as part of a team whilst at the same time work unsupervised, prioritising workload through effective communication with all the estimating team.
4. Technically and commercially appraise all mechanical quotations on receipt.
5. Work closely with the Buying Department and the respective operations teams at the tender stage, handover and throughout the planning stages of each successful project.
6. Participate in the design development to assess the buildability, materials, innovation and cost-effectiveness of proposals.
7. Provide high-level pricing information early in the Tender for optioneering and budgeting exercises to ensure the most cost-effective solution is offered.
8. Prepare schedules for the Tender, using feedback from successful contracts and collaborating with other functions.
9. Participate in the preparation of a procurement plan with the central/regional buyers to agree on suppliers & sub-contractors, terms & conditions and discount levels
10. Prepare enquiries and obtain competitive quotations for mechanical engineering resources, particularly materials and sub-contractors. Obtain completed construction and design questionnaires where appropriate.
REQUIREMENTS
11. 3 years’ experience working as an electrical estimator ideally working on commercial projects.
12. minimum of 1-year experience working as an electrician
13. must be well-written and spoken
14. proficient in Microsoft software
