Support Worker, Waking Nights (21.30-07.00)
Weymouth
Part-Time 28.5 hours
£13.77 per hour
We are looking for Support Workers in Weymouth to cover night shifts on a full-time or part-time basis.
We are looking for someone to support a gentleman in his 30s, with varied disabilities (Cerebral palsy, atypical autism and behaviours of distress). You will be working as a part of a close team around this gentleman, whilst supporting him in his own home in Weymouth.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Supporting him to live as independently as possible.
2. Administering medication and personal care.
3. Promoting a positive sleep pattern as the individual can awake for periods of the night.
During the day, this gentleman likes to engage in a wide range of activities from swimming to walking, carriage riding, and sailing (in summertime). He also enjoys spending time at home playing games and watching his favourite 80’s and 90s quiz shows. He thrives in a calm, quiet atmosphere and enjoys arts and crafts and visiting local parks.
During the night, the gentleman has a healthy sleep pattern, albeit he can wake for small periods. Reliability, consistency, and a fun sense of humour are key to developing a friendship with him. Our support will involve keeping his sleep pattern positive while assisting him to meet his needs if called upon.
