A specialist SEN school in Southwark is looking for an experienced and dedicated SENCO to lead and develop its special educational needs provision. Role Highlights:
* Lead and manage the SEN provision across the school
* Work closely with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to develop and implement effective interventions
* Oversee and coordinate EHCPs, ensuring compliance with SEN legislation
* Provide training and support to staff to enhance inclusive teaching practices
* Monitor and assess student progress, adapting support strategies as needed
* Collaborate with parents, carers, and multi-agency teams to ensure holistic student support
* Contribute to the school’s inclusive ethos and commitment to student success
Experience & Qualifications:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
* NASENCO qualification (or willingness to work towards it) preferred
* Experience working as a SENCO or in a senior SEN role within a specialist or mainstream setting
* Strong knowledge of SEND Code of Practice and EHCP procedures
* Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
* Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and external professionals
* Enhanced DBS check required
