The role is to provide resource to the Infrastructure Support team to support the Network environment. It is expected for the ideal candidate has some form of education or accreditation in network technologies and theories over the past 2 years. The Infrastructure Team are expected to respond in a timely manner to support tickets, queries or fault reports and to support projects.
The infrastructure team are responsible for the Network, Security and Telephony infrastructure within the Bank to ensure all the related systems are running and functioning as expected. Therefore a wider than normal understanding of the traffic flow between locations and inside and outside of the organisation is essential along with prior knowledge of Cisco products such as Wireless, DNA, TrustSEC, AnyConnect VPN.
As well as this being part of the Infrastructure Team, individuals are required to understand the inner workings of an IT department, understand what function the different teams provide across IT, which will allow them to effectively triage tickets and queries.

What you’ll bring to the team
1. Excellent communication skills to assist at all levels and convey technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
2. Ability to organize and prioritise workload
3. Flexibility to support the business as and when required outside normal business hours
4. Strong technical skills
5. A methodical, step-by-step approach to resolving issues
6. To be confident supporting Cisco Firepower's, next gen features, DNA, ISE and Wireless first networks.
7. The adaptability to do a range of work— sometimes complex and non-routine. in different environments
8. The ability to work under direction, use discretion and determine when to escalate issues.
9. Understanding
10. The ability to progress a package of work from planning through to completion.
Responsibilities:
Aid the Infrastructure Support team in efforts to maintain the network and telephony infrastructure within the Bank.
11. Respond promptly to support tickets, queries, and fault reports
12. Support Network projects where required
13. Understand the inner workings of an IT department to effectively triage tickets and queries
14. Ensure all related systems are running and functioning properly
15. Support ongoing projects
16. Develop a wider than normal understanding of the traffic flow between locations and inside and outside of the organisation
Patch and secure all network hardware.
Working Hours 37.5hrs per week, Monday to Friday from 8.30 to 5.00 with one hour for lunch.
