Job summary
Flitwick Surgery has a great opportunity for a patient services administrator to join our team on a full or part-time basis (if part-time then you will be required to work on Thursdays and Fridays).
Main duties of the job
1. Keeping health records accurate and up-to-date.
2. Background administrative and secretarial work that supports the smooth running of the practice.
3. Assisting patients to access the right services.
4. Ensuring that appointment bookings are well-managed.
5. Ensuring that appointment bookings are well-managed.
6. Uploading information into the partnership's clinical system.
7. Retrieving paper notes as requested.
8. Photocopying documents as required.
9. Dealing with referrals to primary care.
10. Actioning tasks set by clinicians and the practice manager.
11. Processing practice post and emails.
12. Registering new patients.
13. Handling phone enquiries efficiently.

Flitwick is a busy surgery, run as a partnership and serving a practice population of 14,250 patients. The clinical team consists of GPs, ANPs/minor illness nurses, pharmacists, practice nurses and HCAs. We are a training practice for GPs and also take part in medical research. We are part of Green Vale Health PCN.
Due to our location in Flitwick, a commuter town in rural Bedfordshire, the practice population is diverse, covering patients of all life stages. We have good links to the A6 and M1.
