Legal Assistant/Secretary – Conveyancing\n\n Location: Leicester\n\n Salary – £DOE\n\n Hours – Full Time 9:00am – 5:15pm\n\nACS have teamed up with one of the midlands most well-established legal firms, to support them with the recruitment of a legal assistant/secretary to join their conveyancing team in the Leicester office.\n\nMain Purposes\n\n To provide secretarial and admin support to Fee Earners to enable them to operate at Maximum efficiency. The role will also include reception duties.\n\nPerson Specification\n\nPrevious experience working as a Legal Assistant/Secretary\nGreat communication skills and an ability to work well with others\nAbility to work under time constraints and prioritise work load\nAble to handle sensitive matters discreetly\nGood organisation skills with a methodical approach\nSelf-motivated and proactive\nDeliver excellent service to clients and colleagues \n\n Main Duties and Responsibilities\n\nMaintain Fee Earner’s diary arranging meetings and appointments\nOccasional reception cover\nDeal with routine client correspondence and queries\nOpening and Closing files\nAttend to clients both in person and on the telephone in a manner in keeping with the firm’s standard of client care.\nCreate and maintain client records on the firm’s database ensuring that all correspondence and file notes are recorded on the system.\nProduce client correspondence and enclosures for mailing including client bills.\nProduce client correspondence via dictated notes\nSubmitting SDLT forms to HMRC\nSubmitting applications to register properties with Land Registry\nEnsure the confidentiality of the client and firm’s information and documentation at all times.\nMaintain client hard copy files including copying, storage and retrieval of information.\nDealing with completion funds/slips\nOrdering documents from Land Registry online system\nSearch requests/monitoring returns and ensuring payments are made\nAssisting with drafting of Contract Packs, Transfer Forms and other legal departments\nEnsuring cleared balances on accounts before closure\nRequest payments and record receipts of client monies\nArrange searches, reports and any other information as requested by the fee earner.\nOrganising post and taking to the post office.\nTo be responsible for typing, photocopying, filing, making and receiving emails and faxes\nTo work in a safe and secure manner, with regard to the Health and Safety at Work Act\nTo undertake any other reasonable activity requested by the Firm
