Job description TAs work with and care for children of all ages. They play an integral part in pupils well-being; ensuring pupils thrive in a positive environment. TA's will be offered a personalised pathway to develop in up to two specialist areas: special educational needs and disability, early years, behaviour, English as an additional language and assessment. You will support students to accomplish their daily goals in a variety of subjects and work with teachers to understand and support assessment. Apprenticeship summary What will the apprentice be doing? Supporting students to accomplish their daily goals in a variety of subjects Work with teachers to understand and support assessment Develop effective and informed practice Safeguard and promote the health, safety and welfare of children Develop strategies for support What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end? You will be offered off the job training, which is a blended model of learning of doing coursework, training and shadowing. You will be entitled to around six hours per week to do this. On successful completion of your apprenticeship, you will be awarded the Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship. You can then move onto a higher-level Teaching Assistant qualification (HLTA) and a postgraduate teaching qualification. What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship? It is up to you what you do when you have finished your apprenticeship. There may be an opportunity to stay on at the same company and progress to the next level of qualification, High Level Teaching Assistant. Alternatively, you may want to look for a new job or other professional development opportunity.
