Role Overview: Our client, a leading Tier 1 main contractor, is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a large Infrastructure project. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing a substantial groundworks package and contributing to the successful delivery of this flagship project, which will deliver essential infrastructure for the Meridian Water development. Key Responsibilities: Manage and oversee a significant groundworks package, ensuring all works are completed to the highest standards and within budget. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and subcontractors, ensuring effective communication throughout the project lifecycle. Provide cost management services, including the preparation of detailed cost estimates, valuations, and financial reports. Monitor project progress and cost performance, identifying potential risks and opportunities for cost savings. Ensure accurate forecasting and budget management, reporting to senior management and clients. Liaise with other departments and stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery and compliance with contractual obligations. Collaborate with the site team and other departments to ensure efficient resource allocation and project scheduling. Mentor and support junior staff, ensuring they develop their skills and experience. Experience & Skills Required: Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally with a background in main contracting, civil engineering, highways, structures, or utilities. Demonstrable experience managing large-scale infrastructure projects, including groundworks packages. Strong understanding of cost management, contract administration, and financial reporting. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and subcontractors. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to manage and prioritise a high workload in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant cost management software. Qualifications: Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Chartered status (MRICS or equivalent) is preferred but not essential.
