Role Overview:
As an Associate Data Scientist, you will play a vital role in developing data service solutions to support the maintenance and performance of Siemens Mobility’s UK train fleets, with a focus on maintenance management, performance analytics, and AVI systems. This position is based in London (or other UK Siemens Mobility sites) and will involve close collaboration with stakeholders across UK fleet locations. Your contributions will advance our goals for digitally driven maintenance, supporting Siemens Mobility’s strategy of Defend, Extend, and Expand.
You’ll make an impact by:
1. Identifying and analyzing data requirements for maintenance and performance management.
2. Developing prototype visualizations and applications to transform data into meaningful insights.
3. Collaborating with the Digital team to design, build, and maintain analytics solutions using AWS.
4. Supporting users in building skills in data analytics and reporting.
5. Ensuring alignment with Siemens Mobility’s safety and compliance standards.
6. Continuously developing expertise and sharing data science knowledge across the team.
You’ll win us over by:
1. Degree-level knowledge in data analysis or a related field.
2. Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Spotfire, PowerBI, Grafana) and development using Python.
3. Familiarity with AWS environments and statistical methods.
4. Proven ability to turn complex business requirements into technical plans.
5. Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset.
6. Experience in the rail industry and train systems knowledge (preferred).
