Area Operations Leader, Peterborough (UK): The Operations Leader is responsible for ensuring consistency of and best practice is established across our five shifts to generate factory efficiencies. In collaboration with other departments, they will assist in investigations and root cause analysis to bring about continuous improvement and more effective ways of operating. A natural influencer and people connector, they will ensure that people remain at the heart of our operations to ensure our #thisteamcan culture is sustained., Ensuring seamless communication between oncoming and off going shifts to ensure best practices, standards and processes are sustained. Liaising with multiple stakeholders to investigate and improve items that will better our factory KPIs. Together with Production Manager and Shift Manager team, review factory KPIs to maximise efficiencies while minimising cost. Acts as area owner to ensure clear SOPs are in place, visible and operational in all areas of the factory, and leading technical competence across the 5 shifts, indirectly managing a team of 120 Engineers. Researches and implements learnings from other sites, or industry best practice to bring about further efficiencies and improvements. Monitors and ensures TPM and PPM activity is adhered to and remedial work reported to and actioned by the Maintenance team. Acts as a role model to champion people development at all levels to generate strong team engagement levels. Drives operational training to ensure our team are equipped to maintain strong operational effectiveness. As part of a cross functional project team, responsible for ensuring that advancements or improvements to line are managed and transitioned into smooth operational practice.
Previous mechanical apprenticeship or qualifications would be an advantage. Educated to A level, BTEC Level 4 or equivalent. Required Knowledge and Experience Experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment. Experience influencing, leading, developing and managing a team, preferably through the direct leadership of others. Can draw from a range of CI tools and techniques and inspire others to use them., Ability to operate under pressure. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Leadership and motivational skills. Commitment to Health and Safety. A 'can-do' attitude. A drive for continuous improvement.
