About the role
To secure high quality teaching, effective use of resources and improve standards of learning and achievement for all pupils in consultation with the Head of Maths
Improve the quality of pupils’ learning in Maths
Contribute to the development and innovation and / or implementation of Maths policy and procedure
Have lead responsibility for Maths across the school and develop plans which identify clear targets and success criteria for its development and / or maintenance
Teach a range of subjects as necessary to ensure the effective delivery of the school’s curriculum. Work may sometimes be undertaken outside the main teaching area - this may include off site locations including college settings
Essential :
1. Evidence of essential qualification will be required prior to employment commencing.
2. QTS / QTLS or willingness to work towards.
3. Support all staff in achieving the priorities and targets of the school improvement plan and monitor the progress of those which relate to Maths.
4. Ensure that parent/carers are well informed about the curriculum, targets, pupils progress and attainment in Maths.
About us
Smallbrook School is currently increasing capacity from 50 students to 80 and having a large investment in our school site developing KS2 and sixth form provision. We are a co-educational day school catering for pupils aged 7-18 with a range of complex needs including a range of social, emotional and mental health needs and also pupils who have been diagnosed with autism or demonstrate behaviours associated with autism.
You will contribute to making Smallbrook School an outstanding provision for our young people and their families. We provide a therapeutic, supportive and inclusive learning environment and are committed to raising achievement and enabling pupils to recognise their potential and supporting them through a personalised, engaging curriculum. Our priority is to develop the foundation knowledge and skills required to make a manageable and smooth transition to the next life stage.
Our School is based halfway between Shrewsbury and Wem in Shropshire.
