Children’s Books Ireland is currently seeking a full-time Communications Manager to join their dynamic team. This role is crucial for sharing key messaging across the organisation’s community, which includes artists, schools, families, and the public. It also plays a significant role in highlighting the impact of their work to partners and funders.
The Communications Manager will be responsible for overseeing all marketing and communications activities, developing and implementing the communications strategy, and managing a part-time Social Media Officer. This position involves close collaboration across various activities of the organisation, including publications, professional development, book gifting, events, advocacy, and fundraising.
Key duties include:
1. Sharing the story and work of Children’s Books Ireland through various channels.
2. Managing the communications budget.
3. Writing and approving a wide range of communications.
4. Maintaining strong media relationships.
5. Staying up-to-date with communications trends.
Applicants should have strong writing skills, experience in developing and implementing successful communications campaigns, and excellent project management skills. Desirable but not essential qualifications include proficiency in Irish, a full driving licence, and experience in the arts or charity sectors.
The role reports to the CEO and is based in Dublin, with the option of working fully in person or on a hybrid basis. The contract is permanent, with a six-month probation period, offering a salary of €38,390 per annum and other benefits, including a pension contribution and annual leave.
