Deputy Manager
We are seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager to join a highly committed team at a childrens home in Maidstone, Kent.
We are looking for candidates who have proven skills and experience in a Residential Care Setting or equivalent setting and are passionate about improving the lives and outcomes for children and young people.

Deputy Manager Role:
Assist the Registered Manager in maintaining the smooth and effective running of the home.
Lead by example, managing and guiding the team to deliver exceptional care to children and young people.
Support childrens physical, psychological, and emotional development in a safe and nurturing environment.
Cover the Registered Managers role during absences, maintaining the home to a high standard.
Oversee staff rotas, training, supervision, performance management and development.
Act as a mentor to staff, supporting their professional growth and confidence.
Manage behaviours that challenge and guide staff in effective strategies.
Monitor and maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring they meet statutory requirements.
Cover the out of hours on call £20 per night of cover and time off in lieu
Ensure that you and the staff work in accordance with the Statement of Purpose and Function of the home, updating relevant Full Circle Living documents as directed by your manager
Demonstrate effective leadership to direct and support the staff team to deliver person centred childcare working towards the best outcomes for each young person
Demonstrate a working knowledge, implement, adhere to and give guidance to other staff on all relevant legislation for Childrens Homes.
Demonstrate a working knowledge and understanding of the Childrens Homes Regulations 2015, The Quality Care Standards and the SCCIF, under which each home is measured and judged against and promptly implement any recommendations or address requirements to improve the service after any Ofsted inspection.
To ensure that you and the staff team implement and adhere to Full Circle Living Safeguarding Policy, Working Together to Safeguard Children Guidance and Local Authority Safeguarding procedures
Ensure Local Authority Social Workers are notified of all significant events, incidents, important changes and physical interventions within 24 hours.
Ensure that young people receive a sensitive residential service which best meets their individual social, racial, psychological, educational, cultural, physical identity and health care needs
Undertake all administrative tasks necessary for the effective running of the home within Full Circle Living Policies and Procedures.
As directed by your Manager ensure that the home meets the Health and Safety Regulations
Ensure all Quality Assurance and Regulation 44 Reports action points are addressed promptly.
Supporting the Manager in the performance and development of staff by conducting regular supervisions and annual appraisal process
Person Specification
Have at least 1 years experience working in a residential setting
Level 5 Qualification in Leadership and Management in Childrens Service
At least a years experience of line management of staff and superviso responsibilities
Attendance and partaking in Child focused meetings, such as Child In Care Reviews, Care Planning Meeting and Strategy Meetings
At least a years experience in a Team Leader role or Deputy Role
Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with carers, children, families and colleagues
Experience of working with a variety of professionals, children and young peoples families
Understanding and knowledge of Therapeutic approach to Childcare
Working and support children with social and emotional needs Ability to build relationships and promote change
Have experience supporting children and young people with varying backgrounds, including children and young people who have experienced trauma
Knowledge of the mental health needs of children and adolescents
Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care with Children and Young People.
Able to demonstrate resilience in challenging situations
Current driving license
