Job Title: Machine Operator
Location: Scunthorpe
Salary: £25,249 – £30,631 (including shift pay)
Job Description:
We are seeking dedicated and skilled Machine Operators to join our clients team, responsible for producing high-quality cardboard tubes according to precise product specifications. Reporting directly to the Production Cell Leader, this role is critical to maintaining the efficiency and quality of our production process.
Remuneration Package:
* Salary: £25,249 – £30,631, including shift pay.
* Shift Pattern: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM / 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM, Monday to Friday (Currently operating on day shift only).
* Holidays: 20 days per annum excluding bank holidays, increasing to 25 days after one year.
* Company Pension Contribution: Up to 5%.
* Overtime: Occasionally requested.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maximize net production by optimizing speed, minimizing waste, and reducing changeover time.
* Set up machines, including mandrel and paper changes.
* Organize the supply of paper and other raw materials to the production line.
* Perform quality control checks, including dimensions, packaging, printing, and overall product quality.
* Maintain cleanliness of machines and the surrounding environment.
* Record productivity and quality data accurately.
* Adhere to occupational health, safety, and environmental guidelines.
* Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
* Problem-solving to address production challenges.
Minimum Job Requirements:
* Willingness to work shifts.
* Forklift operator certificate preferred (training will be provided if not already certified).
* Experience or training in spiral winding core manufacturing, cutting, and finishing machines is desirable.
* SAP training and Health & Safety training.
Specific Training:
* A fully expensed 4-week training program will be conducted in Wigan and Holland. Applicants must be willing to travel for this period.
