Experience & Skills:
* Prior experience in teaching or tutoring English (may vary based on the position).
* Experience with different age groups or learning levels (e.g., elementary, high school, or adult learners).
* Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
* Ability to explain concepts clearly and adapt to different learning styles.
* Patience and a positive attitude to support student progress.
* Proficiency in grammar, literature, and writing.
This tutor role involves:
* Planning lessons and resources around the student's needs. This could be in the core subjects or life skills.
* Planning and delivering engaging sessions.
* Applying skills to raise pupils' confidence.
* Managing children with challenging behaviour.
* Tracking the learning progress of the student to achieve their desired learning outcomes and being able to provide monthly reports.
* Potentially engaging in outdoor activities such as learning about plants and nature with the student.
* Learning about visuals to communicate in some cases.
Responsibilities:
* Instruction:
* Plan and deliver lessons based on the student's needs and goals.
* Teach grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
* Assessment:
* Monitor and assess students' progress regularly.
* Provide feedback on assignments, tests, and speaking exercises.
* Customization:
* Tailor lessons to suit each student's individual learning style and pace.
* Prepare and adjust teaching materials accordingly.
* Student Support:
* Encourage students' motivation and confidence in using English.
* Provide assistance with homework, exam preparation, and project work.
* Communication:
* Regularly update parents, guardians, or supervisors on student progress.
* Provide constructive feedback and suggest improvement strategies.
* Stay updated on the latest teaching methods, tools, and resources.
* Participate in training or professional development opportunities as needed.
