Main duties of the job
You Must Have
* Completion of a competency-based care certificate including workbook AND
* A minimum of 6 months experience working as a Healthcare Support Worker in an acute hospital environment or 1 year Nursing/Care Home experience in the UK within the last 24 months.

Successful applicants will work in a variety of specialties across the Trust to cover short term needs. The role involves meeting both physical and psychological needs and therefore need to have a flexible approach working as part of a wider team.
Successful candidates must be available to attend a Mandatory Induction Programme (terms & conditions apply) which consists of TWO FULL WEEKS (Monday to Friday) plus two additional recall days.

Knowledge Essential
* An understanding around basic patient care
Experience Essential
* Minimum of 6 months experience of working as a Healthcare Support Worker in an acute hospital environment or 1 year Nursing/Care Home experience in the UK within the last 24 months.
* Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Experience of working with public
* Basic food handling
Qualifications Essential
* Completion of a competency-based care certificate including workbook
* Good standard of numeracy and literacy
Desirable
* Short courses to undertake patient and clinical care duties
Technical Skills Competencies Essential
* Ability to work as part of a team, as well as on own initiative
* Understanding of basic physiology e.g. normal vital signs, fluid balance, nutritional requirements etc.
