What you will do:
1. Administer radiopharmaceuticals and conduct SPECT, PET, and PET-CT imaging to produce diagnostic data.
2. Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide exceptional patient care.
3. Maintain and operate specialized nuclear medicine equipment, ensuring it is calibrated and functioning correctly.
4. Adhere to radiation safety standards and regulations to protect patients and staff.
5. Provide detailed explanations to patients about procedures, addressing any concerns they may have.
Requirements of the Nuclear Medicine Technologist:
1. BSc in Clinical Technology with specialisation in Nuclear Medicine during the degree or BSc in Radiography, which takes three years, and then specialise in Nuclear Medicine, after first qualifying as a Radiographer.
2. Minimum 2 years Nuclear Medicine experience (Practical experience can be obtained by working in a Nuclear Medicine department).
3. NHS experience.
