We are looking for a Shop Supervisor to be part of our local full-service convenience store. We provide a variety of essential services, including grocery, soft drinks, snacks, an off-license, and a post office, which offers our customers a wide range of grocery and household products. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for customer service, and the ability to manage a diverse team effectively. As a Shop Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our shop runs smoothly while providing an exceptional shopping experience for our customers. Full-time with immediate start.

As a Shop Supervisor, you will be responsible for the following duties:
* Offering an efficient and friendly service implementing company guidelines;
* Ensuring customers are served as efficiently as possible by planning for busy periods and ensuring customer demands are met;
* Being available to work on weekends and finish later than normal if required at night;
* Being flexible and willing to attend the site at night at short notice to resolve alarms or security issues if they arise;
* Trying to meet specific requests or demands of customers wherever possible;
* Responding to any customer queries or complaints as quickly and effectively as possible;
* Sharing product knowledge with customers where appropriate;
* Ensuring the layout and appearance of the shop is appealing to customers;
* Adhering to weekly stocktaking procedures and ensuring they are accurate, taking any necessary action in the Off-Licence;
* Ensuring purchasing of stock is carried out following procedures and controlling stock rotation to maximize turnover;
* Presenting the department to the highest standard at all times and following relevant store planograms and guidelines;
* Monitoring and controlling department overheads (i.e. packaging, cleaning equipment, etc.);
* Enhancing product knowledge by gaining information from a range of sources and sharing ideas, suggestions, and building on existing procedures/processes with employees and management;
* Ensuring all staff reporting are given adequate training relevant to their tasks.
Required skills and experience:
* Excellent communication skills;
* Ability to engage with and prioritize customer needs;
* Strong attention to detail, organized and flexible;
* Ability to use own initiative and work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment;
* Supervise and coordinate the activities of shop staff, ensuring that all team members are performing their duties effectively;
* Maintain high standards of customer service by training staff in phone etiquette and communication skills;
* Manage inventory levels and assist with stock management to ensure product availability;
* Implement sales strategies to meet and exceed shop targets, actively engaging with customers to promote products;
* Foster a positive team environment through effective team management and motivation;
* Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints in a professional manner;
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the shop;
* Assist in scheduling staff shifts and managing day-to-day operational tasks;
* Previous experience working in similar job roles is reasonable; however, training will also be provided. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively;
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly desirable;
* Demonstrated ability to lead a team, with experience in sales management preferred;
* A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making;
* Ability to sell products effectively while maintaining customer satisfaction;
* Familiarity with inventory management systems is an advantage.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £38,700.00 per year
