Caretaker - Nant Gwenlli (Old Pillgwenlly Site)
Newport Norse represents the highly successful joint venture between Norse Group and Newport City Council, providing contract cleaning & caretaking services across the local area.
We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Caretaker for Nant Gwenlli (Old Pillgwenlly Site) in Newport. It will be your responsibility to ensure the site is kept clean, secure, and maintained; undertaking several cleaning duties as required. Other duties include:
* Check safety of site open gates.
* Put heating on and a water tank.
* Check all classrooms and boiler house.
* Finish off jobs from the night before and empty veins in the hall.
* Close main school driveway gates (These must remain closed throughout the school day).
* Litter pick and empty outside bins if full.
Any other duties will be discussed during the interview stage.
This position is being offered on a part-time, permanent contract working 37 hours per week, Mon-Tue 7:00-11:00am then 14:30-18:00pm.
We will provide full training if you have not worked within the industry before, but ideally we are looking for:
* Previous experience working in a cleaning, janitorial position.
* Knowledge of health & safety regulations that are relevant to the post, including using relevant machinery and products.
* Ability to work autonomously, managing your own workload.
* Excellent communicator, comfortable engaging with members of the public and the client.
