Job Description:
We’re seeking talented Assistant Managers to join our Private Client Services team, delivering tailored, commercial tax advice to high net worth and ultra-high net worth families with complex UK and international affairs.
You’ll work closely with senior leaders, partners and directors across our national business, with early opportunities to build direct client relationships and attend meetings alongside their advisors.
Our international Private Client Tax Services (PCTS) team supports clients across four key segments:
* Entrepreneurs & Private Business
* Family Office and Established Wealth
* International
* Landed Estates
You’ll gain experience across all areas, with the opportunity to specialise as your progress – making this an excellent career move for those looking to grow within a market-leading, collaborative, and client-focused team.
As part of our growth plans, we’re hiring in multiple locations. These hybrid roles require in-office collaboration with our Private Client Tax team three days a week to support connection, development, and high-impact work.
As a Private Client Tax Services Assistant Manager, your responsibilities will include among others:
* Delivering high-quality advisory and compliance support to a portfolio of clients across our four key segments.
* Building and maintaining relationships with senior management, clients and their advisors.
* Identifying tax planning opportunities, preparing client reports, and responding to ad-hoc personal tax queries.
* Supporting client meetings and contributing to strategic discussions that add value to the client relationship.
* Maintaining a sharp commercial focus by assisting with financial performance monitoring—revenue, billing, and cash collection.
* Ensuring compliance with S&W tax cycle procedures, including maintaining accurate client data and billing records.
* Engaging in internal training and progress your professional qualifications.
* Contributing to business development efforts, including local networking and brand-building opportunities.
To be successful in this role, you should:
* Experience within a professional services or accountancy firm, ideally in a private client tax environment.
* Strong understanding of personal tax compliance and the ability to meet deadlines while responding effectively to client needs.
* Proven ability to manage workloads, prioritise tasks, and perform under pressure in a deadline-driven environment.
* Clear and confident written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues in a client-friendly way.
* ACA, CTA, or equivalent qualification.
Desired:
* Exposure to personal tax planning or advisory work alongside compliance responsibilities.
* Experience supervising junior team members and supporting senior colleagues across engagements.
* Willingness to engage in professional development and contribute to a high-performing, collaborative team culture.
Additional Information:
As a colleague here at S&W you will have access to benefits that include:
* Competitive salary
* Private medical insurance
* Life assurance
* Pension contribution
* Hybrid working model (role dependent)
* Generous holiday package
* Option to purchase additional holiday
* Shared parental leave
* Fully funded training towards professional qualifications
* Cycle to work scheme
* Season ticket loan
* Eye care support
We are proud to value the differences that a diverse workforce brings, representative of society and our clients. At S&W we have a wide range of highly active employee resource groups and we’re delivering multiple diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives across the organisation. It is our commitment to provide a workplace where all colleagues, regardless of identity, background, or circumstance, feel respected as individuals and feel that they can achieve their full potential and work in a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment.
