Role Overview:
The Innovation & Quality Assurance Manager will play a pivotal role in developing and executing strategies for continuous improvement in quality and innovation. Reporting to the VP of Quality Assurance with a dotted line to the Co-CEO, the role will focus on driving operational excellence, leading innovation initiatives, and ensuring compliance with operational and regulatory standards.
Quality Assurance:
Develop and execute innovation strategies in partnership with the VP of Quality Assurance and senior leadership team.
Oversee the deployment of quality assurance systems and performance benchmarks.
Refine internal processes to ensure operational and regulatory compliance.
Guide management on process development and ensure conformance to quality standards.
Lead Root Cause Failure (RCF) initiatives to identify and address process anomalies.
Oversee the implementation of Irreversible Corrective Actions (ICA) to limit non-conformities and increase operational resilience.
Manage the Process Compliance Records and site Solutions Knowledge Base.
Collaborate with department heads to ensure excellent internal and external audit scores.
Innovation Development & Execution:
Lead all innovation opportunities and projects for the Heathrow Consolidation Centre.
Identify opportunities for improvement and deliver strategic plans to implement changes.
Support Heathrow's strategic growth and lead incentivized projects as directed by customer leadership.
Use data and analytics to identify and deliver process and operational improvements.
Communicate and execute project outcomes with internal and external stakeholders.
Act as a subject matter expert for innovation projects, ensuring alignment with business goals.
Business as Usual:
Participate in Monthly Management Reviews (MMRs) and customer meetings, including quarterly reviews with Heathrow Airport Limited (HAL).
Coach and mentor management teams to achieve operational excellence in innovation development, execution, and process control.
Serve as the gatekeeper of knowledge-based solutions stored in our AMIS system.
Provide analytical reporting to the BSL Board of Directors as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
Prince2 or relevant Project Management qualification.
Exposure to efficiency improvement principles (e.g., Lean, Six-Sigma) is desirable.
Certified internal audit qualification or relevant experience is advantageous.
Proven experience in strategic innovation development and change management.
Extensive experience managing high-level, complex projects.
Expertise in Root-Cause Failure Analysis and leading quality/process control audits.
Strong commercial awareness and strategic thinking.
Experience in working with project management tools such as Visio.
Ability to drive change in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Experience working in regulated and unionized environments is desirable.
Experience in logistics, FMCG, or retail sectors is desirable.
