As Director of People, you will work closely with senior leaders to align people strategies with organisational objectives, ensure compliance with legislative frameworks, and champion values of fairness, diversity, and wellbeing. Key Responsibilities: Lead the development and delivery of a comprehensive people strategy, fostering a culture of inclusivity, fairness, and empowerment. Oversee workforce planning, talent management, and employee relations, ensuring alignment with organisational goals. Drive initiatives to improve engagement, leadership development, and wellbeing across the organisation. Collaborate with senior leadership to develop innovative approaches to emerging workforce challenges. Champion diversity, equality, and inclusion, embedding these principles into all organisational practices and policies. Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, leveraging data-driven insights to shape strategic decision-making. Build and maintain key stakeholder relationships across the public sector, government bodies, and local authorities. Provide vision and leadership during transformational change, ensuring the organisation remains agile and resilient. What We’re Looking For: Proven senior leadership experience in human resources and organisational development. Strong expertise in employment law, HR best practice, and workforce planning. Demonstrated success in leading cultural change and embedding inclusive practices. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels. CIPD Level 7 or equivalent qualification (essential); a relevant masters’ degree is desirable. A strategic thinker with a track record of delivering impactful results in complex environments. Demonstratable experience of managing relationships with external stakeholders, such as trade unions, government bodies, and local authorities. Public sector experience is advantageous.
