Overview:
As an Electrical Tester, you will be responsible for carrying out electrical testing and inspections across a range of social housing properties. This includes ensuring compliance with safety regulations, identifying potential issues, and completing testing and certification of electrical systems. You will play a key role in supporting the safety and well-being of our residents by maintaining electrical safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct electrical testing and inspection in social housing properties, ensuring compliance with the 18th Edition of the IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) and other relevant standards.
* Perform EICRs (Electrical Installation Condition Reports) on domestic properties.
* Identify faults and recommend corrective actions.
* Carry out any required remedial works to bring electrical installations up to standard.
* Complete all necessary documentation, including certification and reports, in a timely manner.
* Work in compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
* Liaise with tenants to arrange access and provide a high level of customer service.
* Assist in the development and delivery of maintenance programs.
Key Requirements:
* NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations or equivalent.
* 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations qualification.
* City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent (Inspection and Testing).
* Proven experience in electrical testing and inspection, ideally within social housing or similar environments.
* Excellent understanding of electrical safety standards and regulations.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
* Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle (essential for mobile roles).
* Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with tenants in a professional manner.
Desirable:
* Experience working in social housing or local authority settings.
* Previous experience using testing equipment, such as a test meter and PAT testing equipment.
* Ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance works.
