Associate Civil Engineer

Our client is a successful Civil and Structural design Consultancy with offices across the UK. They are currently seeking an Associate Civil Engineer to join their team. The Associate Civil Engineer will support and lead the team to ensure technical and commercial targets are met. A forward-thinking Associate Civil Engineer will lead and deliver innovative projects while promoting the company to existing and prospective clients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Develop concept designs and actively manage all projects under your direction.
2. Produce high-quality designs for feasibility, costing, and construction purposes, including highways and drainage, street works, public works, SUDS, and utilities coordination/diversion of services.
3. Influence development and infrastructure master-planning using knowledge of relevant regulations and standards.
4. Lead teams in consultancy guidance, feasibility, outline, and detailed design.
5. Conduct thorough site investigations, inspections, identify potential issues, and solve problems.
6. Manage project cost control and compile invoices accurately and timely.
7. Plan and manage project resources under your supervision.
8. Supervise staff and provide proactive problem-solving advice.
9. Mentor employees under your direction.
10. Support Senior Team Members in resource management for successful outcomes.
11. Represent the company at client and design team meetings.
12. Assist in recruitment, retention, and management of staff.
13. Develop competitive fee proposals for future work.
14. Contribute to business development activities, including events and marketing.
15. Engage in Continuing Professional Development and maintain CPD records.
Software Capabilities:
1. AutoCAD 2D Drafting
2. PDS Site Developer / Civil 3D
3. Flow / Micro-drainage
4. TEDDS and other industry-recognised software
5. Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project Management Software
Minimum Requirements:
1. Chartered Membership of the Institution of Civil Engineers and/or the Institution of Structural Engineers is ideal.
2. Support for Professional Accreditation will be considered for suitable candidates.
