Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance, ensuring that production downtime is kept to an absolute minimum. Maintain accurate maintenance records. Lead projects with new machinery/ equipment installation. Provide technical assistance to other departments when needed. Identifying key maintenance issues and drive continuous improvements. Provide support and training to Apprentices. Essential Criteria Time-served and qualified to at least NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in electrical engineering coupled with strong mechanical skills along with 2 years post apprenticeship industry experience. Previous experience within a maintenance role, preferably food industry. Good working knowledge of single/ 3 phase electrical installations and equipment. Ability to diagnose faults on electrical control circuits, general electrical, mechanical and pneumatic equipment. Have a working knowledge of PLC controlled equipment. Have the ability and experience to setup and program motor inverters and various control gear including temperature controllers, counters and timers. Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics. Comfortable reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical drawing.
