Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working with a well-known, family-run Scottish business in order to appoint a Management Accountant. This is a newly created position to support the Financial Controller with the day-to-day accounts and manage a small finance team to deliver business goals. This is an excellent opportunity and would ideally suit a part-qualified or ‘qualified by experience’ Accountant who wants to progress their career and develop themselves in an exciting industry.
Role Responsibilities:
* Take the lead in preparing monthly management accounts to support the business in its decision-making.
* Assist in the preparation and regular updating of financial forecasts, identifying any trends or anomalies to aid the Financial Controller in finalisation.
* In the absence of the Financial Controller, ensure sufficient knowledge to be a reliable support to the management team and manage the rest of the accounts function.
* Pro-actively support the Financial Controller in all areas of finance function as required.
* Support and, as necessary, train members of the accounting team.
* Oversee the sales and purchase ledger function.
* Actively participate in areas of the monthly management accounts process as directed by the Financial Controller.
* Oversee and supervise the reconciliation to ensure all costs and revenues are matched.
* Complete monthly accounts statistics.
* Ensure any departmental issues identified are promptly resolved or escalated to the Financial Controller.
Requirements:
* Fully qualified, part-qualified or ‘qualified by experience’ Accountant.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines.
* Have a proven track record of exceeding expectations and objectives.
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
