Salary: £12.82 per hour
Start Date: Immediate/ Easter 2025 start
Contract: Full-time, permanent (part-time can also be arranged for the right candidate)
GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a vibrant mainstream primary school in Bournemouth. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a commitment to supporting children’s academic and personal development in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
About The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant (LSA), you will play a key role in assisting students who require additional learning support, ensuring they have access to a stimulating and engaging education. You will work closely with teachers and SENCOs to support children with learning difficulties, communication needs, and social development challenges.
Learning Support Assistant (LSA) Responsibilities
* Provide one-to-one and small-group support, ensuring students stay engaged and on task.
* Assist in delivering differentiated lesson plans and adapting materials to suit individual learning needs.
* Support students with literacy, numeracy, and communication skills, helping them gain confidence in their abilities.
* Encourage positive behaviour and support students with social and emotional development.
* Work collaboratively with teachers and SEN staff to create an inclusive classroom environment.
* Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and SENCOs to tailor support strategies.
* Assist with classroom organisation, including preparing learning materials and resources.
Learning Support Assistant (LSA) Job Requirements
* Previous experience in a Learning Support, Teaching Assistant, or similar role.
* Understanding of learning difficulties and SEN needs, including Speech and Language Delays, Autism, and ADHD.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and positive approach.
* Ability to adapt teaching strategies to support students with diverse needs.
* Resilience and a proactive attitude, ensuring students feel supported in their learning journey.
* Understanding of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to student welfare.
* Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
