Role Title: Academy Bank Physiotherapist (Part Time)
Reports To: Lead Academy Physiotherapist
Key Contacts: Academy Manager, Head of Performance, Academy Head of Coaching, Head of Safeguarding, Player Care, Foundation Development Phase Lead Coach, Academy Coaching Staff, Players, and Parents.
Location: Various (Academy office, Academy training and match venues) USW Sports Park / Newport International Sports Village.
Hours: Minimum 2 sessions a week (training/games) as per the academy schedule, plus additional sessions where necessary.
Job Purpose: The role of the Therapist is to provide medical cover to training sessions and games for the academy (U9-U18s). They will be required to keep up to date records and fill in an injury audit on a weekly basis.
Remuneration: Dependant on experience
About The Candidate
Experience / Qualifications:
1. BSc in Physiotherapy/Sports Therapy/Sports Rehabilitation
2. Registration with relevant regulator (HCPC/BASRAT)
3. Full UK Driver's Licence
4. Knowledge of applied anatomy and biomechanics including experience in assessing, managing, and rehabilitating growth/sport injuries in adolescent adults.
5. In-depth understanding of growth and maturation and its implications for developing athletes.
6. Experience working with young professional players.
7. IT skills to include the ability to use Football Intelligence Platform software and Microsoft.
8. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
9. Must be flexible / able to work weekends.
10. A genuine team player.
