ESG Coordinator – TEMP
Location – Eastleigh, Hampshire
Full-time - Monday to Friday (37.50 hours per week)
Salary – From £28,000 (upwards, negotiable DOE)
About The Role
Our client is seeking a passionate and dedicated ESG Co-Ordinator to drive environmental initiatives and support the implementation of their Environmental Management Plan (EMP). In this role, you will play a key part in transforming the business by enhancing sustainability and environmental performance across operations, benefiting employees, customers, and communities.
You will work closely with various stakeholders to administer and promote ESG activities, collate and manage data related to greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and help embed a culture of environmental responsibility within the organization. This role focuses on energy efficiency, carbon emissions, waste management, and climate action.
Key Responsibilities
1. Data Management: Identify, collate, and manage data on Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 GHG emissions to support sustainability goals.
2. ESG Monitoring: Assist with the implementation of ESG monitoring processes and manage the testing of new ESG protocols and programs.
3. Business Transformation: Coordinate workshops, meetings, and projects in line with the long-term environmental strategy.
4. Employee Engagement: Drive internal engagement on sustainability by developing awareness campaigns and supporting environmental initiatives.
5. Reporting: Assist in preparing environmental reports, including company energy usage, emissions reporting, and ESG-related tenders.
6. Sustainability Solutions: Support the development of ESG solutions, referencing standards like the GHG Protocol, UN SDGs, PRI, and GRESB.
7. Project Management: Propose and help deliver projects focused on energy efficiency and carbon reduction, ensuring they meet technical and financial goals.
8. Research: Conduct desktop research on sustainability topics, track policy updates, and share insights with the wider ESG team.
9. Ad Hoc Support: Assist with broader ESG activities, including supply chain management, waste reduction, and circular economy initiatives.
Qualifications
1. Education: Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainable Development, Climate Change, Energy Management, or related fields.
2. Experience: 1-2 years in an ESG or EHS role, with experience in reporting, disclosure requirements, and understanding of ESG frameworks (TCFD, GRI, SASB and ISSB).
3. Skills: Strong analytical and data management skills, including proficiency in Excel. Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey complex strategies simply and visually. Knowledge of ISO standards, particularly ISO 14001 and ISO 50001, with audit experience. Ability to work independently, solve problems proactively, and adapt to changing circumstances.
