As an After School Club Practitioner, you’ll lead child-centered activities, ensuring each session is dynamic, inclusive, and packed with fun. Fun can take many forms—whether you’re having one-on-one chats, leading art projects, or playing football in the garden, your goal is to make every moment special. Who you’ll work with : Our participants include children with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), from mild learning disabilities to more complex physical challenges and profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD). Some of our young people may require communication support, exhibit challenging behaviours, or need personal care assistance. Your empathy, patience, and adaptability will be crucial in creating a safe and stimulating environment. Key Responsibilities Support young people in a variety of fun, child-led activities. Contribute to session planning to ensure engaging and meaningful experiences. Adapt to the individual needs of each young person, ensuring inclusion and participation. Provide personal care as needed, ensuring the wellbeing of all attendees. What you’ll bring: Experience : Previous experience working with children, young people, or adults with disabilities is a must. Knowledge : A good understanding of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Energy & Positivity : You love a busy environment and bring a fun, adaptable, and flexible approach. Communication : Strong active listening skills and the ability to use alternative communication methods.
