Job summary We are recruiting a Junior Sister/Charge Nurse for our Short Stay Unit, The Coleman Unit (TCU) and Adult Day Surgery Unit, which are both mixed sex wards. ADSU comprises of 14 trolleys for day case patients and TCU comprising of 14 beds and supports short stay patients up to 5 days, undergoing a wide range of surgical and diagnostic procedures. You must have excellent communication and leadership skills, enjoy interacting with people and being part of a busy fast paced Short Stay Unit. You will be working closely with and be well supported by experienced Ward Manager, junior sisters, friendly Clinical Nurse Specialists, and world class orthopaedic surgeons. This post is an ideal opportunity to develop further leadership skills. By being an effective leader and role model you will work flexibly as a member of the ward team. Responsibilities include leading the team and organizing the daily activity of a busy Orthopaedic Unit for pre and post-operative patients. In support of the Ward Sister/ Charge nurse you will ensure standards are maintained, evaluated, initiated and where necessary improved.
