We’re recruiting on behalf of a top-tier business in Hull, looking for a maintenance engineer who knows how to make things happen when the rest of the world is asleep.
The night shift isn’t for everyone – but for the right person, it’s the perfect opportunity to lead, fix, improve, and make a real impact.
If you thrive on solving problems fast, keeping things running smoothly, and want to be the one everyone turns to when things go sideways – then this is the role for you. You won’t just be reacting to issues; you’ll be proactively driving improvements and ensuring the entire operation stays on track while others are winding down.
What You’ll Be Doing:
1. You’re the one keeping everything moving. When others head home, you’re the one ensuring operations run like clockwork.
2. Breakdown? You’ll handle it. You know how to solve problems in a way that minimises downtime and keeps the wheels turning.
3. You’ll take the initiative to make continuous improvements – always looking for ways to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and make things better.
4. Health and safety, cleanliness, and compliance are non-negotiable. You’ll lead by example and make sure everything is always up to standard.
5. You’ll play a key part in developing apprentices, sharing your expertise, and helping to build a stronger team.
6. You’ll make decisions that matter, drive performance, and take pride in knowing you’re contributing to the company’s success.
What We’re Looking For:
1. A strong engineering background with experience in fast-paced environments.
2. You’ve got the qualifications (HNC/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent), and you’re ready to put them to work.
3. A multi-skilled engineer with a knack for solving problems quickly and effectively.
4. A safety-conscious mindset – you understand the importance of following procedures and setting the right example.
5. A desire to improve and grow – this is a role for someone who wants to make a real difference and continue developing their career.
Why the Night Shift?
Let’s be honest: the night shift isn’t for everyone. But if you’re the kind of person who enjoys working in a quieter, more independent environment, this could be your ideal set-up.
1. 4on/4off shifts – balance your work with time for what matters to you.
2. £48,000 per year.
3. Great perks – We’re talking a pension plan that puts up to 10% into your future, holiday buyback options when you need extra time, and reduced shares that let you take ownership of your role.
4. Full training and development – You’ll get the skills you need to grow in the role and take on new challenges.
If you’re the kind of engineer who enjoys the buzz of keeping things running smoothly while the world is asleep, we want to hear from you. This is your chance to take ownership, make a real difference, and work in a role where every night counts.
