Job Description
Our client is seeking a Quantity Surveyor/Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team. This is a pivotal role in a company focused on growth and innovation within civil engineering and renewable projects. You will be part of a collaborative team dedicated to delivering exceptional results while building a strong reputation across the industry. In this role, you will contribute to the successful management of projects, support the expansion of our client base, and identify profitable opportunities. Our client is looking to be a leading competitor in civil engineering, renewables, and road & bridge works, while continuing to strengthen relationships with existing clients in environmental and building projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial Activities:
* Contribute to the construction team for specific contracts.
* Assist in the financial and contractual management of allocated projects.
* Undertake re-measurement of all trades related to each contract.
* Prepare interim applications for payment.
* Value relevant contract variations for inclusion in payment applications.
* Prepare and process supplier and subcontractor payments.
* Support the Site Manager with material orders.
* Draft and manage contractual correspondence in consultation with the Commercial Manager.
* Attend project progress and team meetings as required.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
* Build and maintain strong professional relationships with colleagues, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
* Regularly update the Director/Commercial Manager on potential commercial risks and opportunities.
* Undertake any additional duties reasonably requested by the Director/Commercial Manager.
Performance Measures:
* Achievement of commercial and operational targets.
* Provision of accurate and timely financial information.
* Avoidance of significant contractual disputes.
* Strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Key Competencies:
* Strong negotiation skills for contracts, terms, and final accounts with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
* Ability to financially and contractually manage construction projects.
* In-depth knowledge of construction techniques, principles, and practices.
* Familiarity with commonly used industry conditions of contract.
* Excellent communication skills.
