An SEO Account Manager will have an in-depth knowledge of how to conduct SEO campaigns and the contemporary understanding of SEO best practice and methods. The individual will be passionate about the subject, always seeking opportunities for self-improvement and learning.
The main accountability
The role comprises:
* Working directly with clients in planning and implementing SEO campaigns;
* Auditing client websites to ensure adherence to SEO best practice from both a content and technical perspective;
* Using SEO-focused tools to uncover opportunities;
* Intent-led keyword research and mapping;
* Undertaking thorough analysis of client websites and competitor data to identify opportunities;
* Creating well-researched, user-focused content;
* Producing and presenting reports detailing campaign performance;
* Managing the workflow and relationships of your own portfolio of clients;
* Client management including regular and comprehensive reporting, phone calls, meetings and video conferencing as well as attending client meetings;
* Maintaining the company's high client retention rate by developing and fostering long lasting client relationships, often at senior levels within the client’s business;
* Analysis of client website(s) and competitor data to identify opportunities within the given market sector;
* Analysis and technical auditing of client websites and subsequently working with developers to ensure adherence to current day best practice SEO standards and architecture;
* Researching and reaching out to websites which could provide links to the client website;
* Project management of tasks and colleagues when working on collaborative SEO projects.
Job dimensions
Reporting to the Team Leader, the SEO Account Manager will be responsible for a portfolio of clients of varying sectors. The SEO Account Manager will be responsible for running ongoing retained SEO clients ensuring agreed service levels are maintained and relationships improved positively.
The role is office based on a hybrid basis, but on occasions will involve independent travel to client premises.
Knowledge and experience
* Over 2 years experience;
* Excellent knowledge of online marketing and SEO;
* Demonstrable understanding of technical SEO considerations;
* Ability to critically appraise client websites;
* Experience in putting together effective SEO strategies;
* Experience in conducting keyword and competitor research;
* Experience and knowledge of Google Search Console and Keyword Planner;
* Good experience of using, interpreting and administering Google Analytics including advising and implementing on conversion tracking and ROI measurement;
* Preferable experience with Google Tag Manager and Google Data Studio;
* Advanced excel / google sheet skills;
* Experience of using website Content Management Systems particularly WordPress;
* Able to work to deadlines and prioritise and manage time across multiple clients;
* Able to write and present campaign summaries;
* Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills;
* Gravitas to hold and direct internal and external meetings;
* Ability to proactively identify business development opportunities within client portfolio;

* Commercially minded. Able to identify key opportunities for both clients and The SEO Works;
* Understanding of the key elements of SEO;
* Fantastic copywriting skills;
* Able to identify key technical issues with a website;
* Able to use Google Analytics and Search Console (or equivalent);
* Able to manage own time;
* Comfortable working independently or within a team;
* A proactive, positive attitude;
