TEACHING ASSISTANT
Location: Tokers Green, Reading
Salary: £11.72ph - £12.53ph (actual annual salary = £20,941 - £22,388 per
year, dependent on experience and qualifications)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week, term time only
Start Date: January 2024
Opportunity
We are currently seeking enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistants (TAs)
to join our growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a new
educational venture, working within an environment that is dedicated to
supporting children aged 6-16 with Autism Spectrum Disorder, moderate to
severe learning needs, and associated challenges.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students
learning and wellbeing, ensuring they thrive in a caring and safe environment.
Job Summary
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Assisting teachers with the day-to-day running of the classroom, providing guidance and support when needed.
2. Working collaboratively with the class team to deliver meaningful and tailored educational experiences for students.
3. Supporting positive behaviour management strategies, adopting a child-centred approach.
4. Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students in line with school policies.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
1. A good standard of English and Maths.
Desirable:
1. Experience working with children with SEN, particularly Autism Spectrum Disorder and moderate to severe learning difficulties.
2. Knowledge of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures.
3. Experience managing challenging behaviours.
4. Previous experience in an educational or multi-cultural setting.

2. Creativity and positivity in meeting students needs.
3. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
4. Good numeracy, literacy, and ICT skills.
