Randstad are recruiting for a Learning Resources Officer for Belfast Metropolitan College to work out of the Titanic Quarter campus on a Part Time basis

Requirements
* Either hold a qualification at BTEC National, GNVQ Advanced, or NVQ Level 3 or above, PLUS a minimum of one years’ experience in a customer facing environment in a Library or Information Handling Environment OR Have a minimum of two years relevant experience of working in a customer facing environment in a Library or Information Handling Environment
* English GCSE at Grade C or above, OR Essential Skills level 2 (or higher) in Communication, or equivalent.
* Maths GCSE at Grade C or above, OR Essential Skills level 2 (or higher) in Numeracy, or equivalent Experience
* Experience in the use of online information resources (For Example; the internet or web based databases)
* Recent experience in the use of ICT systems. For example Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet applications
* Experience of working with others and in teams to deliver successful outcomes
* Experience of dealing with customer queries / issues
* Candidates will be subject to enhanced vetting checks before commencement in role including an enhanced Access NI check
Duties
* The post-holder will work under the direction and guidance of a Senior Library and Information Services Officer to provide efficient and effective front line support enabling Learners to succeed.
* Key areas of responsibility in supporting the learner by: Providing Information Retrieval support, Providing front line ICT Learner support, Operating automated library systems, Maintaining and supporting the organisation of the College Library and Information collection
* The post-holder will form part of a front line team of Library and Information staff and will be expected to assist in the delivery of front line services including: To assist and guide learners in retrieving relevant information in print, non-print formats and information from on-line sources.
* To demonstrate the use of the range systems for accessing print, non- print, online resources and
* To demonstrate and support the use of a core range software packages and support the use of other Library and Information based learning support equipment.
* To provide relevant resource support for class inductions in the Library and Information Centres, to provide individual inductions and use assistance, guidance and provide demonstrations to learners in the Library and Information Centres
* To provide assistance in the compilation of learning resources book, non-book and other resource lists for learners
* To deal with front line learner IT support requests within Library and Information Centres, providing assistance and guidance in the use of core software packages and systems or referring these support requests on to other relevant support services
* To operate the College’s automated Library Management System (LMS) with Library and Information Centres
* To assist in the operation of all the modules of the Library and Information Centres LMS: Circulation, Searching, Acquisitions, Cataloguing and Inventory
* To follow all procedures to assist in the audit all College learning resources.
* To handle and record receipt of all monies collected in the day-to-day operation of Library and Information Services to learners
