Richmond Talking Therapies (RTT) is looking to recruit two enthusiastic and motivated High Intensity CBT Therapists to join our dynamic and innovative service on a fixed-term contract. The posts can be hybrid or fully remote, as long as you can travel to Springfield Hospital in Tooting when required for IT needs.
RTT is based in Twickenham, in the borough of Richmond. We are one of the top-rated Talking Therapies services in London, offering stepped-care, evidence-based interventions at steps 2 and 3. We are part of South West London & St George's NHS Trust.
The vacancies are fixed-term contracts (maternity cover) with the option of fully remote or hybrid working. We expect clinical staff to work one late evening per week (12 noon until 8pm Mon-Thurs).
Main duties of the job
This post involves:
* Delivery of high quality, Step 3 CBT (face to face/online, group/individual) interventions for clients presenting with mild to moderate anxiety disorders and depression-related problems
* Carrying out telephone, virtual online and face-to-face assessments
* Working with people from different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters where necessary

Job description
Job responsibilities
1. To deliver 20 attended clinical hours per week. This will include assessments, individual and group work.
2. To provide specialist psychological therapy assessments with clients referred to the NHS Talking Therapies service based on the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex data from a variety of sources.
3. To provide at least one NICE recommended psychological therapy for anxiety disorders and/or depression.
4. To formulate and implement plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of a client’s mental health problems.
5. To be knowledgeable about DSM-V diagnosis of common mental health problems.
6. To clinically formulate clients’ problems and develop and implement plans for treatment.
7. A good understanding and ability to apply CBT treatment strategies flexibly across the whole range of disorders seen in NHS Talking Therapies.
8. To be responsible for implementing psychological interventions for individuals, carers, families and groups.
9. To evaluate and make decisions about treatment options.
10. To exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment, treatment and discharge of clients.
11. To provide specialist psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals.
12. To undertake risk assessment and risk management for individual clients.
13. To communicate in a skilled and sensitive manner, information concerning the assessment, formulation and treatment plans of clients.
14. To provide expertise, advice and support to facilitate the effective provision of psychological care.
15. To provide reports where appropriate.
16. To attend serious incident (SI) meetings as needed.

* Psychological assessment skills and skills in DSM-V based diagnostic assessment.
* Advanced practitioner skills in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
* High-level knowledge of the theory and practice of NHS Talking Therapies-recognised psychological therapies.
* Skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment and intervention.
* Knowledge of effective care pathway navigation across primary and secondary care psychological therapies services.
* Skills in the assessment and evaluation of clinical risk.
* Well developed skills in effective communication of complex information.
* Skills in providing consultation to other professional and non-professional groups.
* Evidence of continuing professional development as required by the HCPC and/or BABCP.
Desirable
* Knowledge of the academic literature concerning common mental disorders.
* Skills in providing teaching and consultation.

Qualifications

* Doctoral level training in clinical or counselling psychology or equivalent.

* Accredited in another modality of therapy (e.g EMDR).
