We are recruiting for an apprentice to work on a busy administration team, assisting with the day-to-day running of a GP surgery.
Hours: Monday to Friday, working hours to be confirmed between 07:30 - 20:00, 37 hours a week
Start Date: Monday 3 February

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
* Support the office in administration roles as determined by the Lead Patient Coordinators
* Support the processing of post – both paper and electronic
* Assist with the patient registration process
* Answer the telephone and deal with patient queries
* Provide a good service to patients
* Book appointments for a variety of clinicians
* Handle the surgery's social media platforms and advertise national awareness campaigns
* Support the IT team with their day-to-day duties
* Liaise with GPs, nurses, admin, and patients to ensure smooth running of surgery

Course contents
* Skilled in the use of multiple IT packages and systems relevant to the organization in order to: write letters or emails, create proposals, perform financial processes, record and analyze data. Examples include MS Office or equivalent packages.
* Produces accurate records and documents including: emails, letters, files, payments, reports, and proposals. Makes recommendations for improvements and presents solutions to management.
* Exercises proactivity and good judgment. Makes effective decisions based on sound reasoning and is able to deal with challenges in a mature way.
* Builds and maintains positive relationships within their own team and across the organization.
* Demonstrates good communication skills, whether face-to-face, on the telephone, in writing, or on digital platforms.
* Completes tasks to a high standard and demonstrates the necessary level of expertise required to complete tasks.
* Takes responsibility for initiating and completing tasks, manages priorities and time to successfully meet deadlines.
* Uses relevant project management principles and tools to scope, plan, monitor, and report.
Your training plan
The completion of this Apprenticeship Standard will require monthly training visits from a qualified IPS Trainer to help support the Apprentice develop skills and progress the building of the Apprentice portfolio to prepare the learner for End Point Assessment.
Apprentices without Level 2 English and mathematics will need to achieve this level prior to taking the End Point Assessment via Functional Skills training.
