We are now looking to recruit a Group Accountant to join our busy and successful Group finance team. We are offering a basic salary up to £60,000. The Group Accountant will be expected to cover a number of aspects of Group accounting, providing timely and accurate financial information to Group Senior Management including the Plc Board, as well as reporting to various external stakeholders You will be responsible for Management of the central accounting function currently representing a team of 6 colleagues, reporting on performance to the CEO and CFO as well as taking an active role in the annual business planning process, liaising closely with functional departmental management. Management of the Group's treasury function, ensuring the Group complies with its financial providers information covenants together with ongoing cash flow forecasting and optimisation of funding use with respect to the Group’s £123m working capital facilities and extensive Manufacturer funding arrangements. Ensuring that best practices and process efficiency within the central accounting function is consistently evaluated and improvements identified, working closely with the dealership and functional finance teams. Production of the consolidated balance sheet and cash flow on a monthly basis. Preparation of the Group consolidated and subsidiary statutory accounts in accordance with relevant accounting standards and coordination of the Group’s annual external audit. You will be in regular contact with the Group's senior divisional finance team as well as the Group's Corporate banks, so excellent communication skills are essential. Exceptional leadership skills are required as well as strong attention to detail and a proven track record within Accounts. It would be preferable to hold an ACA, or equivalent, qualification. In addition to exceptional communication skills, you must be a good team player with a robust and resilient personality.
