As a Geospatial Surveyor at Gridmark Survey you will be a member of our geospatial services team, where commercial awareness, punctuality, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to our core values are paramount. Your role involves collecting, analysing, and interpreting geospatial data while ensuring that our company values of quality, accuracy, teamwork, support, kindness, and communication are integrated into every aspect of your work.
Location
A small family-based company in Castle Eden, County Durham this is an agile role where you will be based out of our office however will attend numerous project locations around the Northeast of England.

Role
* To carry out and assist with Topographical Land Surveys, Utility Mapping Surveys, Measured Building Surveys, 3D Laser Scanning, Aerial Drone surveys, Monitoring, Hydrographic Surveys, Stockpiles, Volumetrics, As-Built Surveys, Site Control, Setting Out & Site Engineering.
* Production of 2D & 3D drawings, 3D Models, Point Cloud Data Registration & Post-Processing.
* Assist with pre-site documentation and communication.
* Demonstrate willingness to learn and understand new surveying technology and adapt survey techniques over a variety of surveying disciplines.
* Assist and demonstrate willingness to learn new associated software’s.
* Think creatively to resolve practical planning and development problems.
* Mentor and train less experienced surveyors, as required.
* Provide technical support to clients and internal staff members.
Requirements
Experience
* At least 3 years Land Surveying experience.
* Working knowledge of surveying equipment including Total Stations and GPS systems, as well as AutoCAD software
* Working knowledge of Laser Scanners
* Wider Knowledge of the surveying industry, utilities, and construction industries
* Experience of processing and survey report writing
* Knowledge of safe practice in survey activities.
* Able to solve complex surveying problems, research records, compile, analyse, and interpret survey data.
* Competent with TPS/GPS/Drones/LiDAR and hydrographic survey techniques.
* Competent in use of AutoCAD, LSS, N4ce, Pix4D or similar.
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
* Experience working across a wide variety of environments and on complex surveys.
* Ability and willingness to work flexibly.
* A full UK driving licence.
* Understanding of Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and The Quarries Regulations 1999 where related to surveying activities.
Growth Areas
* Competent use of AutoCAD, LSS, Trimble Business Centre, n4ce, Autodesk Revit etc.
* Production of 2D Floor Plans, Elevations, Sections and Topographical Surveys from survey data.
* Production of 3D Models from laser scan data.
Technical Skills
Competent in the operation of the appropriate survey equipment of the following: –
* Total Station
* GPS/GNSS
* 3D Laser Scanners
* UAV (Fixed Wing, Multirotor & Lidar)
* GPR
* Electromagnetic Locators
* HyDrone RCV
* Task-specific survey equipment as and when required.

* Thoroughly review survey data, identifying errors or discrepancies, and taking corrective actions.

* Continuously improve surveying methodologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
