Role Overview:
MARCO is seeking a dedicated technical service engineer to service, repair, maintain, install, and support their market-leading technologies. This hands-on role requires mechanical engineering skills and familiarity with software installation, as much of the equipment operates on Windows or similar platforms.
The role is customer-facing, emphasizing excellent service delivery, client loyalty, and support. The engineer will receive a high-spec vehicle, tools, laptop, phone, and uniform, and will join a team of 7 engineers and support personnel. Full training will be provided before any solo work is undertaken.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintenance and support of existing MARCO equipment
* Calibration of weighing equipment and labellers
* Installation of weighing/materials handling hardware and software
* Customer training for users and system champions
* System ‘Go live’ support
Region Covered:
Primarily South / South East, with occasional travel across the UK and abroad. The role may require staying away from home, though most work will be local to the region. MARCO ensures excellent travel arrangements, including highly rated hotels and good flights.
Candidate Requirements:
* Electrical, PLC, or Mechanical qualification preferred, vocationally trained candidates (QBE) will also be considered
* Experience within the food packing industry would be ideal
* Keen interest in both mechanical hardware and software systems
* Flexible hours and willingness to travel internationally
* High standards in customer satisfaction and product quality
* Ability to meet deadlines efficiently
* Excellent communication skills with customers and colleagues
* Confident self-starter, able to work independently or as part of a team
* Full driving licence and current passport
