Position:
An opportunity has arisen for a Technical Assistant (Telecommunications) on a 2 year, fixed-term contract, based across Ailsa Hospital, University Hospital Crosshouse, and University Hospital Ayr.
What you will do:
NHS Ayrshire & Arran has a requirement for a Telecommunications Technical Assistant to work within our Digital Services Department within the Corporate Services Directorate. Responsible to the Telecomms and Desktop Manager and Technical Specialist (Telecommunications), the role is to programme, support and develop the design, installation, connectivity and security of network and telecoms systems to ensure the stable operation of the organisations Digital Services systems and voice communications, including designing and implementing new systems and procedures and Unified Communications across all hospitals, GP Practice, Pharmacy, Dental, Community Clinic and Health Centre Sites.
Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
To be successful in this role, you must possess good communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to work autonomously and under pressure to meet deadlines. You will often work on your own initiative and will be expected to liaise with several NHS and external support colleagues on a regular basis. You must also be enthusiastic and motivated and have a flexible approach to working, which includes unsociable hours and have a full unendorsed UK driving licence, with access to your own car for short business journeys between NHS Ayrshire & Arran sites.
You will have a Professional qualification equivalent to HND level, and must also possess knowledge of Telephony systems including DX, OSV, OSB, DX Messenger Voicemail and Netcall products. You should also have technical knowledge of IP networks and voice hardware, protocols and standards, have proven experience in telephony support, and have an excellent understanding of the organisation’s goals and objectives, as well as knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.

37 hours per week
Driving Licence/Car Ownership:
A car licence/car ownership is essential to this role.
