Locum Consultant in Acute and General Medicine

Applicants must have full GMC Registration, a license to practise and eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview. Portfolio Pathway (formerly known as CESR - Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration) route doctors are only eligible to apply for a substantive consultant post once it has been awarded. Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.
Applications are welcome for the above Fixed Term, part time (32 hours per week) post based in the Western General Hospital.
This post is based in the Department of Acute and General Medicine at the Western General Hospital Edinburgh for a six month period. 8PAs are available with a contribution to the general medicine acute take downstream care of general medical patients in the general medical ward.
Medical specialties on site include Medicine of the Elderly, Respiratory Medicine, Diabetes and Endocrinology, Infectious Diseases, Stroke Medicine, Rheumatology, Gastroenterology, Cardiology, Rheumatology and Dermatology. Further medical specialties are hosted at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and St John’s Hospital Livingston.
You would be predominantly based at the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh.
